Oh, That I May Know You

by Ralph I Tilley

Oh, that I may know You, O Christ,
In Your resurrection power—
The pow'r that brought You from the grave,
Triumphant in Your darkest hour.

Without You, all-conquering One,
I'm fruitless, alone, dry and bare.
Except I know Your inner strength,
My love is cold, my service rare.

Contemplating Your holiness,
I know I'm utterly defiled.
But You nailed my sin to Your cross;
Now with my God I'm reconciled.

With You, O Christ, I am buried;
With You, I rose from the dark tomb.
Because You overcame that Day,
My life is no more shrouded with gloom.

Oh, that I may know You, O Christ,
In Your resurrection power—
Know You more and more ev'ry day,
Walking with You hour by hour.

Oh, that I may know You, O Christ,
In Your resurrection power—
Until the day You take me Home,
When I'll know You so much clearer.
