Are You a New Creature?

Have you confessed Christ as Lord and Savior;
Have you renounced your wicked ways?
Have you turned from all your idols;
Do you seek to live only for God’s praise?

Have you done your best to make right your wrongs;
Have you left all the godless crowd?
Have you turned fully to the Lord;
Are you keeping the promises you vowed?

Have you forgiven all who wronged you;
Do you love those you used to hate?
Have you left the works of darkness;
Does the Spirit your life now regulate?

Have you surrendered to God completely;
Have you left all to follow Him?
Does Christ own your total loyalty;
Is your body consecrated to Him?

Are you truly a new creature in Christ;
Have all the old things passed away?
Are you living a brand new life;
Is Jesus your first love in ev'ry way?

Or are you a Christian in name only,
Still living for self and in sin?
If so, bow before Christ lowly—
He will make you new without and within.
