Make me, O Lord, one of Your channels of blessing,
A life poured out in service to You.
Filled with Jesus’ love and compassion for others,
May Christ be seen in all that I do.
In the presence of selfish ambition and strife,
A bearer of holy peace make me.
Save me from all pettiness that drives men apart,
Promoting the Spirit’s unity.
Where cruel pride pervades men’s thoughtless agenda,
Using others to achieve their end;
Show me the footprints of Him who became a slave,
Stooping low to serve—willing to bend.
In this impersonal world of sorrow and stress,
Where many callously look away;
May I bring Christ’s presence to Your hurting children—
Comfort and cheer, just like the sun’s ray.
When an obstruction emerges in this channel,
Let me not sin attempt to excuse;
But flee directly to the cross of Christ Jesus—
Grace to receive that I You might use.
